Hank Haney Golf Academy at Lake of Isles offers four levels of instruction specifically tailored for the Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced golf students.

Sunday Summer Junior Clinic Program

This program is for children aged 5-15 to introduce them to the game of golf.  These 4 week programs are offered every month from May through September.  Junior golfers will learn the basics for full swing, pitching, chipping and putting in a fun, friendly, positive environment.  Rules and etiquette are a part of each weekly group lesson.  Groups are formed by age and ability.

Beginner Instruction:  Ages 5-10.  Student/Instructor Ratio 5:1.
Junior Instruction:  Ages 10-15.  Student/Instructor Ratio 5:1

Clinic Times: Sunday 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Price: $15.00 per week OR $50.00 for the 4 week month.

Competitive Golfer Program

The Competitive Golfer Program is a professional coaching and training program for aspiring high performance golfers ages 14-18, who are just starting their tournament career.

Offered each year from April through October, participants will be guided through the skills required to play tournament golf including tournament scheduling, tournament preparation, pre-tournament warm up routines, course management and post round analysis. Both young men and women are welcome to participate.

The program is lead by Director of Instruction Derek Hooper, with this program being a prerequisite to graduating to the High Performance Program.

Students will receive the following:

  • An initial game assessment – video swing analysis, physical screening and exercise program, skills testing and equipment assessment.
  • Twice monthly practice and training sessions with Academy Instructors that will include feedback on swing technique, short game skills and on course skills. 
  • Complimentary “standby” playing privileges on Lake of Isles North Course and reduced fees for accompanied adult guests for the duration of the program.
  • Unlimited use of the Lake of Isles practice facility for the duration of the program.
  • A written “Performance Plan” that clearly outlines goals and planned action for improving the students game.
  • A golf specific physical screening and exercise program which will be re-assessed and updated monthly.
  • A personal journal to record all practice and coaching sessions, skills tests, weekly schedule and competitive rounds analysis.

This program is designed to provide aspiring high performance athletes with a professional approach to their development as golfers and people. This program is suitable for individuals who:

  • Are golf athletes motivated to improve their skills and performance;
  • Are committed to being the best that they can be on and off the course;
  • Take responsibility for their actions and are “coachable”;
  • Do not abuse alcohol and/ or illegal drugs;
  • Have positive attitudes;
  • Respect and honor the game;
  • Give scholastics top priority; and
  • Play for the love of the game and the challenges that it presents.

How do you register?
All athletes and parents/guardians must first meet with Director of Instruction, Derek Hooper, to discuss the possibility of enrolling in the Competitive Golfer Program. Space is limited.

Price: $180.00 per month.


High Performance Program

 

 
The High Performance Program is a professional coaching and training program for aspiring high performance golfers ages 15-19, who are looking to become the best player they can be and have the goal of playing college golf or beyond. The HPP is available by invitation only to junior golfers who have completed a minimum of one year in either the Junior Scholarship Program or the Competitive Golfer Program.

Offered each year from April through October, participants will be instructed on the technical, physical and mental demands required to play golf at highest level. Each participant will receive opportunities for regular instruction, within a program designed around the needs of each individual. The goal of this education will be to help prepare players for college golf and to prepare them for play beyond the College years.

The program is lead by Director of Instruction Derek Hooper, with many HPP “grads” having successfully made the transition to university golf teams.

Students will receive the following:
